I started knitting a few years ago only on occasion. In 2010, I learned I was going to be having surgery which would require me to be idle for awhile so I brought the knitting back out. No idle hands for me! Over the Thanksgiving Holiday I made several items and brought them in to the office to share with my co-workers and before you knew I had a list of custom orders for folks for the holidays. Most of my sales were by word of mouth but in 2012 I decided to open up an Etsy Shop to share my items with the rest of the world. And the rest is history.
